Three Gifts

Frankincense, Gold and Myrrh.  Or Mary, Mia and a Snowman.

IDSCN0439   DSCN0438 I am celebrating!  My birthday, my 100th post and my membership at Inspiration Avenue.  I am almost finished with my commission piece, tomorrow I will share that. And maybe I toss another gift into the heap.  Tis the season.

If the wise men gave 3 gifts, a wise woman should at least give 4.

Here are the rules.

1)  Give a comment.  It doesn’t have to be about how great I am.

2)  Tell me which one you wish to win.  If you don’t care, or love them all (who could blame you) leave this option blank.

3)  Think happy thoughts.

My rules.

1)  Put everyone’s name in a bowl.  A clean bowl.

2)  Pick 3 names.  If this works perfectly, I will jump to #4.  Since this isn’t heaven,  I have rule #3.

3)  The first person picked, with a favorite, gets it.  If, out of the 3 names picked, 2 or more want the same piece…first lady wins.

4)  Maybe rules don’t make any sense.

5)  Drink a spot of wine.

6)  Figure it out so everyone is happy and not mad with me.

7)  Send every one something.  (there ARE a lot of things I’ve been meaning to unload)

8)  Just one more tiny bit of wine.

9)  Get all of this done by FRIDAY!  I will.  I always accomplish my goals.  I really do :)

So, get busy.  And spread some Love, Chickies!

xox, Lisa

PS:  I left a comment on how it should be done.  ( I always like examples)

Seems like a Miracle

I feel happy.  Excited, and a wee over my head, Inspiration Avenue accepted me into their fold.  Hah, life is good, so good.

I am thankful that these talented, artistic, fun, optimistic women decided I could join them.  I AM HAPPY!  And, I have to admit, scared.  I am afraid I won’t…not miss the deadlines…never late am I…but I am not good at all with my very intelligent computer. Sometimes I can’t open mail!

I am a person who only goes after things if I am sure I will do or die.  Thankfully, I am with woman who are so understanding and generous,  I am blessed.

I know I am behind in my give-away for my 100th post, so sorry.

I am in the weeds with a commission (show you when it’s done)

I am giving this… for starters.

And I want to give away something for exciting news…and something for my birthday, which is over do….So tomorrow I will show pictures and make it simple.

I want everyone to have their prize before the big day.

(might make a great hostess gift)  I have some really great things you could re-give…who knows, they might end up back with me.

Hee hee.

Tomorrow, I will put pictures of the other goodies.  I want everyone to have something…let me think.

Thank you, the whole wide, world wide,  Sweet Peeps

Lisa

PS:  No bombs or other means of terrorism will be sent via the USPS!

(not even a box cutter or a tiny bottle of shampoo)

Imagine Peace

This week at Inspiration Avenue, the challenge was Imagine or Imagination.  There was a video of John Lennon singing Imagine and what else could I imagine, but peace…

DSCN0429 Here is my little treasure box, Imagine Peace.  I had a lot of fun making this box.  I will put it in my shop.

DSCN0430

I have a rush commission piece I have to work on all day, but I hope to look at everyone’s blog tonight.

Namaste,

Lisa

World wide Art Love

I received some VERY good mail yesterday.  One in my mail-box, and the other…just a walk to the post office to sign for my box (of hazardous, maybe terroristic) goodies.  What are they (the government ?) thinking.  I have a lot of Over-the-Seas friends, that I buy from and sell to…yet every time it’s the signing and explaining.  I find it Stupid!

If I was shipping my friend in Australia or Italy a gun, or bomb, or even something with lead paint…would I fess-up on the customs slip?

Sooo Nonsense-ical!

Here are the items I’ve signed into my custody:

DSCN0428 This (quite large) ornament from Suze in Italy.  We were partners in an ornament exchange.  I really love it for a lot of reasons…but the best reason is that I can use it for Valentine’s too!  It is perfect and I love it!  Thank you Suze :)

DSCN0427 This (also quite large) is a painting I purchased from Julie-ann I just call her Julie, but click to see some truly beautiful painting.  I can tell you, it is even more lovely when you are holding it in you grimy, little paws!

I loved her wood canvas so much that I stole it from her for my new commission…Wish I could have stole her husband to do it for me, but i managed.

I am very excited about this commission, very last minute.  It’s a Klimt inspired piece.  I will show when I get to the painting…today I just built the canvas and sketched.

I love deadlines, but this one has to do with someone’s Happy Christmas…and there is the USPS to consider…so I will be nose to nose and heart to heart with this project every free moment.

We have another Nutcracker performance and dinner with friends and a cocktail party…OH NO!!!  It looks like I’ll also have to shower and shave.

Forget the shaving, I’ll wear boots with my dress :)

A moon in the afternoon

I have resolved to quit complaining about grey days.  I am even trying to become inspired by them.  Here is an ornament I made today for my shop

DSCN0418 Yes it’s gray, but it has crystals that seem to find light anywhere.  I really like how it turned out.

I will also be putting this Affirmation Mirror in my shop.  It is a little pick-me-up every time you look at it.

DSCN0410 I read that you should put plastic wrap over the mirror when taking its pic…hmmm, not so sure.

This was a busy weekend…the first of 3 nutcracker performances…

again, Mia dances…I just drive:)

Mia dances 3 dances in the performance.  Snow, Tre-pak (sp?) and of course Waltz of the Flowers.

DSCN0348 The pictures turned out pretty lousy, but this is Snow.

DSCN0381 This is when the dainty and sweaty ballerinas were greeting the guests.

Speaking of snow, it did.  This is out of the car window on the way home.  Pretty, even I had to admit.

DSCN0388

Oh!  Guess what!  I lost 9 inches on Sunday.

DSCN0402 I think I going back to have more of the stuff removed.  It almost looks like a grown out hair cut, doncha think?

DSCN0408

Last of all, one more ramble…

It’s never a good week end til you spend money!

DSCN0399 Her name is Grace.  Isn’t she lovely?

It is my first Sid Dickens.  I always wanted to own one.  Well, truthfully, I want them all.  But Mary is my first choice and she feels right at home, I hope.

DSCN0401

I just realized…THIS IS MY 100th POST!!!  I will have to think of someway to celebrate!  I’ll have a spot of wine.  I’ll let you know what I dream up for all (or some, or one) of you :)

OK, you made it to the finish line!

Cheers and a big, warm hug, Lisa

Life is a Peach

This week’s challenge at Inspiration Avenue was Peaches and Cream.  I found this to be very difficult.  I made a few false starts and total disasters.  In the end, I spent a lot more time on this than I wanted to…and I am not happy with it.

DSCN0391 Oh well, you can’t win ‘em all.  Monday is a fresh new week…

All About the Girls

I don’t get to watch Oprah too often, then, when I do, it turns out to be about some celebrity I don’t care to watch.

Yesterday, she re-aired a show that I had to see, about women and children in the parts of the world that seem to be forgotten.

They aren’t forgotten, they just aren’t talked about. Nobody knows.

Women and children are being raped by soldiers, beaten down by their husbands and starved to death by their communities.

The are dying in childbirth and being sold as sex-slaves.

While we complain about the weather, the economy and traffic.

I know. Bummer. But, there is an easy way to help, to get on the band wagon, to BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO SEE IN THE WORLD!

Some ways are free. Some cost a couple bucks. Watch…

More ways you can help women and children all over the world

Click on the G to watch the video. Click on the link to do more.

I have decided to donate 20% of all my sales in my shop to help these women, their children, husbands and ultimately humanity.

I am really eGlobalGivingxcited about this and I hope you will join me :)

At least watch the 45 second video…it’s not sad, I promise.

Thank You!

Peace and Love,

Lisa
